Empowering Youth through Theatre

At Dakota Stage, we believe in the transformative power of theatre to inspire, educate, and uplift young minds. Our Shade Tree Players (STP) summer program is designed to cultivate creativity, confidence, and camaraderie among the youth of our community. In our ongoing commitment to making theatre accessible to all, we are thrilled to offer our Shade Tree Players Scholarship Program.

Scholarship Coverage Options

We understand that financial constraints should never hinder a young person’s passion for the performing arts. Therefore, we are offering three tiers of scholarship coverage to accommodate different needs:

25% Coverage: Providing partial assistance to offset registration costs.
50% Coverage: Offering substantial support to alleviate financial burdens.
75% Coverage: Ensuring that financial limitations are not a barrier to participation.

Application Process

To be considered for the Dakota Stage Shade Tree Players Scholarship, applicants must:

Write a Letter of Interest: Applicants are invited to express their enthusiasm for STP and their love for theatre in a heartfelt letter. Tell us why theatre matters to you and how participating in STP would make a difference in your life.
Provide Proof of Need: We understand the importance of ensuring that scholarships go to those who truly require assistance. Therefore, applicants must submit documentation from a bank, school, or pastor verifying their financial need.

Previous Involvement Consideration

For repeat applicants, we take into account their previous involvement and volunteerism within the STP community. We recognize the dedication and commitment of those who have been a part of our program before and value their continued engagement.

How to Apply

Applications for the Dakota Stage Shade Tree Players Scholarship Program can be submitted below or in-person at the Dakota Stage box office. The deadline for submissions is March 31.
